Male in late 40s referred into office by family member for moderate to severe neck spasms. Upon his initial chiropractic exam, Dr. Kametz located vertebral subluxations in the spine affecting his neck spasms, colon and other areas. After a thorough exam was completed, Dr. Kametz predicted other symptoms affecting the patient (which the patient confirmed).
Patient then revealed suffering for nearly 20 years with symptoms of Ulcerative Colitis (UC). The patent was controlling symptoms in last five years with Sulfasalazine.
UC is believed to be an auto immune disorder characterized by bloody diarrhea, cramping belly pain, weight loss,and/or joint pain. All patients diagnosed with UC comment on feeling like they can’t leave the house because they’re scared of having uncontrollable bloody stools.
When the nerve signals to the colon are interfered with by subluxation, the colon can start to malfunction. Constipation, diarrhea, and damaged tissue to the colon may arise. As more cells malfunction, the problem can become even more serious. Chiropractic corrects vertebral subluxation allowing for a more normal nerve signal, the brain stem to communicate with the body, and healing to take place.
Patient claims that after 6 weeks under chiropractic care, symptoms are 70% better. Patient had been using UC medication for over 5 years, but now claims he has cut his medication by 1/2 and will cease all medication by next week.
These are before and after X-Rays under chiropractic care for six weeks. Pre X-Ray shows weight bearing to the right. Post X-Ray shows weight bearing of skull directly over pelvis. Also, a complication of UC is constipation; this is visualized on the pre X-Ray by blackening around the gut and pelvis. The red arrow to the black areas in the colon represents gas and fecal material (left X-Ray). The right X-Ray is much clearer in those areas. These X-Rays not only show a structural change but also a pathological change.
Patient reported that neck spasms have been resolved completely. At the re-exam, patient also reported having to take ½ the amount of ulcerative colitis mediation and says symptoms are 70% better. Patient verbally stated that after the first adjustment, his bowels started functioning better. Patient also reports he finally sees hope in resolving these and other health issues (in a short period of time) after years of medical treatment did not help him.
A subluxation is a condition where a spinal bone shifts out of position and interferes with the integrity of the nervous system. Since the nervous system controls all function, a subluxation can have a negative effect on the entire body and brain.
Recently, we’ve had a few cases of patients diagnosed by their primary care physician with ulcerative colitis. Two of them had subluxation at the sacrum. Once this was corrected and the nerve supply restored to the colon, they no longer displayed symptoms of ulcerative colitis.
This is a Gonstead chiropractic adjustment used to reduce nerve interference to the body and brain, allowing normal function to take place. Are you experiencing these symptoms and have found no relief? Maybe you have subluxation. Call your San Diego Gonstead chiropractor in Carlsbad today at 760-729-8802 to schedule an appointment.
When correcting the sacrum or L5, it’s necessary to lock the pelvis enough to take out the slack at the bone. Once the slack is out and the pelvis locked, you can set the sacrum P to A with very little effort and speed. This is very comfortable for the patient, and much easier on the doctor. When you don’t take out the slack enough, the natural tendency is to thrust thru with more force or more speed. Neither is necessarily comfortable and puts more trauma into the spine.
