Kathy just had surgery for a skin lesion on her chest leaving a deep, wide scar; therefore, the patient could not be adjusted prone. She was in too much pain after surgery and was unable to lay down face forward or on side posture for a standard L4 Gonstead adjustment. So Dr. Kametz had to perform the adjustment in a seated position. L4 subluxation was present. Using Gonstead principles of proper contact, taking out the slack at the hand while allowing patient to extend, using the weight of the patient to stabilize the pelvis, and a specific P-A thrust, L4 sets in very gently and beautifully, reducing instrumentation reading. Kathy was also able to get tremendous relief after this adjustment.
Dr. Gohl used to say, “Follow principles, not people.” People are fallible. Principles are truth. Don’t wait for years before getting help and call us today to schedule a consultation with your San Diego Gonstead Chiropractor in Carlsbad.
