Failed Back Surgery

There is more than a 50% chance your back surgery will fail.  Failure means equal or more pain, or more surgeries or drugs needed.  Attempting to artificially stabilize a joint by fusion or by discectomy can destabilize the joint further by causing other vertebrae to make up the lost range of motion, or by decreasing the overall matter of the disc necessary for joint stabilization.  Invariably, surgery further destabilizes spinal segments and increases misalignment causing more severe subluxation.  Surgery speeds this process of subluxation.
